Today one of us went out with a friend that she's known for around five years now from the UK, and she decided to show off a bit with her nails. We often like to do that...but it's just because we're so artsy! She got a lot of compliments on the colour combinations as well as the detailing, so we think that we'll do some spin-offs on this style later on, possibly for a party or for an event. What do you guys think?
To get this look, buy plain, unpainted, fake nails (the name of the brand used here escapes our mind at the moment, but we'll get back to you on that!), and use two coats of Nail Hardener's Chris's Green Belt, followed by Wet n Wild's 435E (sorry no name! it's an old polish, unfortunately...). After those three coats have dried, use any sort of clear polish (just not quick dry!) and brush a thick stripe of it on the top part of the nail. Quickly pour thick gold glitter over top of the nail (you must do each nail's glitter individually). After the polish has dried a bit, tap the nail so the excess glitter comes off. If you want some extra glitter, put another stripe of clear over the glitter stripe and repeat the glittering process. Once this is done, put any sort of clear polish over top. We like to really set the nails with two layers of clear polish. An important note for this look is that it is best to do this with the nails on a paper towel rather than on your actual nails.
We love fake nails for fun occasions, but not for important occasions, because they can be a bit of a hassle for important occasions. They always seem to get a bunch of comments, mostly positive, and some about how we can type with them on. We never get any that are too long to type with, plus we use very strong glue! Happy designing everyone!
